DAY 01: ARRIVE DIBRUGARH
Meet and greet upon arrival by our representative. Check in hotel freshen up then we take you on a tour, around a tea estate to learn all about tea – its origin, how it is grown and all about tea tasting and its quality. Thereafter drive on to the river front and take a boat cruise on the mighty Brahmaputra River in a country boat. Cruise up to a beach Island in the midst of the river. En-route there is a possibility of your sighting flocks of migratory water birds and the elusive Gangetica River Dolphin. Enjoy the view of the Eastern Himalayas and take a nature walk in the vast expanse of grasslands surrounding the island and enjoy your picnic lunch. Return to the mainland and visit a weaving centre to see traditional looms and the weaving of silk textiles of Assam, famous all over the world. Evening option to go for shopping. Overnight in Dibrugarh.
DAY 02: DIBRUGARH – DIGBOI – TINSUKIA (200 kms approx.)
After breakfast, excursion to Digboi (90kms). Digboi is the oil city is nestled in the numerous Tea Gardens & mystic hills. Visit the hundred year old Refinery, the first refinery of Asia & is the world’s oldest operating oil refinery. Other major destinations in & around Digboi are War Cemetery. 18 holes Golf Course. Back to Dibrugarh. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 03: TINSUKIA – DIBRU SAIKHOWA – TINSUKIA
After Breakfast, excursion to Dibru Saikhowa. Dibru Saikhowa Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the least known, but potentially most rewarding of Assam’s national parks, albeit with very basic accommodation, and it protects 640 square kilometres of grasslands, marshes and riverine forest. One of the few remaining protected sites in the Endemic Bird Area of the Assamese Plains, the sanctuary is home to globally threatened species such as White-winged Wood Duck, White-bellied Heron, Lesser Adjutant, Pallas’s Fish Eagle, Swamp Partridge, Jerdon’s Babbler, Black-breasted Parrot bill and Striated Grass bird. It is also home to some restricted-range species, such as the Marsh Babbler, Swamp Perinea and Yellow Weaver. Overnight at Tinsukia.
DAY 04: TINSUKIA – JORHAT (Approx. 200 kms)
After Breakfast leave to Jorhat. Enroute excursion to Sibsagar (80 kms/2 hrs). SIBSAGAR is the erstwhile capital of the Ahom Rulers is a beautiful town located around the huge artificial lake -Sibsagar tank & the Shiva Temple. Visit the archaeological remains, palaces, and temples of the Ahoms – Charaideo, Gargaon Palace, Talatal Ghar, Rang Ghar & Kereng Ghar. Later back to Dibrugarh Hotel. Arrive and overnight at Jorhat.
DAY 05: JORHAT – MAJULI – JORHAT (49 kms land / 2 hrs)
After Breakfast, drive to Ferry Ghat to go to Majuli Island by crossing Brahmaputra River through a public ferry.
Majuli Island, which is the second largest river island of the world. The island is the birthplace of the Neo-Vaishnavite culture which is followed by the people of Assam. Many Satras (Assamese monasteries) exist within the island, where monks both young and old, learn about various forms of traditional arts, dance, music, drama and religion. The satras preach a life of simplicity, and yet, it is easy for a tourist to be consciously enlightened by the power of such simplicity.
Majuli is also home to many tribes, who live a very simple and sustainable life. You can spend time with these tribes, understand about their ways of life and indulge in their daily activities. You can also spend time indulging in the pleasures of bird-watching, as the island is an important habitat for birds.
After sightseeing come back to Jorhat again by crossing Brahmaputra River. Overnight at Jorhat.
DAY 06: JORHAT – KAZIRANGA (Approx. 100 kms / 2.45 hrs)
After Breakfast drive to Kaziranga National Park, the home of “One Horned Rhinoceros”. Check in at your hotel. Evening free for leisure or explore the local market. Overnight stay in Kaziranga.
DAY 07: KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK
Early morning explore any one zone of Kaziranga National Park on back of Elephant i.e. ELEPHANT SAFARI (Optional: Unless it is mentioned in the inclusion). Get up early morning at 5.30AM and start for both central range ‘Kohora’ and western range ‘Bagori’. Apart from the Rhino, other species found are Hog Deer, Swamp Deer, Wild Buffalo, Elephants and if you are lucky then tiger also. At 6:30 AM return to the hotel / resort for Breakfast & take little rest.
Afternoon around 01.45 PM you have JEEP SAFARI in Central range. Kaziranga National Park, has become synonymous with successful conservations of Great One Horn Rhinoceros / Unicornis and also a home of many other threatened species including Indian Elephant, Tiger, Hoolock Gibbon, Ganges dolphin, Sambar, Barasingha or Swamp Deer, Hog Deer, Indian Muntjac, Water Buffalo and Gaur etc. Among the reptiles’ species like Water Monitor Lizard, Indian python, Cobra and the King Cobra are found. Return back to resort / hotel. Overnight in Kaziranga.
DAY 08: KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK – GUWAHATI (250km / 4h 30min)
After breakfast, checkout hotel to transfer to Guwahati. Overnight at Guwahati.
DAY 09: GUWAHATI
Meet and greet upon your arrival by our representative. Transfer to your hotel, check in and freshen up for local sightseeing of Guwahati, the Capital city of Assam and Gateway of Northeast, it is the Central business region of Northeast. Pay your obeisance at the numerous Temples – Maa Kamakhya. Sukreshwar. Umananda. Navagraha, Bashistha Ashram. Tirupathi Balaji and many more. Visit the Second world war Cemetery, State Museum, State Zoo & Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra (A museum of Assam diverse culture), and Science Museum beside the temples. Overnight at Guwahati.
DAY 10: GUWAHATI DEPARTURE
After Breakfast, return back to Guwahati Airport / Railway station for your departure. Your tour ends here with pleasant memories.
