DAY 01: ARRIVE GUWAHATI – SHILLONG (150km / 2h 30 min)
Meet and greet upon arrival by our representative and then transfer to Shillong (110 Kms). The ‘Gleneagles of the East’ lies in the centre of a plateau surrounded by Khasi hills. En-route visit UMIUM LAKE BARAPANI PARK. After lunch go for sightseeing.
The gorgeous city offers amazing tourist spots. The sightseeing includes Don Bosco Museum of Indigenous Culture, Ward’s Lake is popular for short garden walks & boating, Botanical Garden offers plethora of indigenous and exotic plants & rare collection of orchids, Lady Hydari Park is a Japanese style landscaped park endowed with stretches of roses & exquisite flowers. The Mini Zoo adjacent to the park has about 73 birds, 140 reptiles & mammals, Golf Course – One of the largest Golf courses in Asia is an 18 hole Golf Course is charted amidst a surging valley full of thick pine groves & rhododendron trees. Spend the evening in the splendid arena, Elephant Falls is a mountain stream gorging down two successive falls set in dells of fern covered rocks; Shillong Peak displays a mesmerizing view of the scenic country side. Overnight in Shillong.
DAY 02: SHILLONG – CHERRAPUNJEE – SHILLONG (190 kms approx.)
After Breakfast, excursion to Cherrapunjee. Cherrapunjee is framed as the wettest place on Earth is 60 kms from Shillong. The journey from Shillong to Cherrapunjee offers a pleasant drive as one witness numerous waterfalls & gorges. Longer stay gives opportunity to the visitor to explore limestone caves & waterfalls, the amazing living root bridges and galore of water & adventure activities. While the must visit places are the gorgeous Seven Sisters falls and the Mawsmai cave is in your tour plan.
Enroute sightseeing includes: Ramakrishna School and Museum, Eco Park, Nohsngithiang Falls, Nohkalikai Waterfalls, Mawkdok Dympep Valley View, Dainthlen Waterfalls. Later come back to Shillong Hotel. Overnight in Shillong.
DAY 03: SHILLONG – KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK (Approx 325 kms)
After Breakfast, Check out hotel to go to Kaziranga National Park, the home of “One Horned Rhinoceros”. Check in at your hotel. Evening free for leisure or explore the local market. Overnight stay in Kaziranga.
DAY 04: KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK
Early morning explore any one zone of Kaziranga National Park on back of Elephant i.e. ELEPHANT SAFARI (Optional: Unless it is mentioned in the inclusion). Get up early morning at 5.30AM and start for both central range ‘Kohora’ and western range ‘Bagori’. Apart from the Rhino, other species found are Hog Deer, Swamp Deer, Wild Buffalo, Elephants and if you are lucky then tiger also. At 6:30 AM return to the hotel / resort for Breakfast & take little rest.
Afternoon around 01.45 PM you have JEEP SAFARI in Central range. Kaziranga National Park, has become synonymous with successful conservations of Great One Horn Rhinoceros / Unicornis and also a home of many other threatened species including Indian Elephant, Tiger, Hoolock Gibbon, Ganges dolphin, Sambar, Barasingha or Swamp Deer, Hog Deer, Indian Muntjac, Water Buffalo and Gaur etc. Among the reptiles’ species like Water Monitor Lizard, Indian python, Cobra and the King Cobra are found. Return back to resort / hotel. Overnight in Kaziranga.
DAY 05: KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK – BHALUKPONG (117 kms / 3 hrs)
After Breakfast start your journey to the Bhalukpong. Bhalukpong is Situated on the Assam-Arunachal border. Bhalukpong is a small town located along the southern reaches of the Himalayas in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh. Bhalukpong is one of the most must see picturesque spot for angling, leisurely picnics and nature lovers. Evening at Leisure. There are plenty of nature beauties to explore the area of your own undoubtly. Overnight at Bhalukpong.
DAY 06: BHALUKPONG – BOMDILLA (105 kms / 3.5 hrs)
After breakfast drive to another picturesque location called Bhalukpong. On the way you will be visiting to Tipi Orchid Sanctuary and Research Centre. It’s an Orchidarium at Tipi (5 kms from Bhalukpong) on the way to Bomdila is the Botanical paradise. About 300 species of orchids can be seen in the flora – glass house. Some of them are rare and endangered species. Also have a look of the tribal villages of Bhalukpong and the local and the local sightseeing. Arrive Bomdila and check in the hotel. Overnight at Bomdila.
DAY 07: BOMDILLA – TAWANG (190 kms / 6.30 hrs)
After breakfast transfer to Tawang. While going to Tawang you will be visiting: Jaswant Garh, Sella Pass. Overnight in Tawang.
DAY 08: TAWANG
After Breakfast, Full day Sightseeing in Tawang which includes the major ones are:
Tawang Monastery (Vihar): Tawang Monastery about 400 years old, situated at an altitude of approximately 10,000 ft. is the second largest Buddhist monastery in India. It also holds the distinction of being the birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama. The monastery is the house of more than 700 monks.
Urqelling Monastery: It is the birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama who is the only Indian to have risen to such a high position in Gelupka Sect of Buddhism so far. Inside the monastery there are several Stupas (Vihar) and people from all walks of life visit this place during Buddhist New Year to get the blessing for the coming year.
The Craft Centre: The craft centre in Tawang sells beautiful masks, hand woven carpets, jewellery in silver, coral and amber, ‘chubas’ the local dress and delightful affordable mementos.
Tawang War Memorial: After lunch around 3: 30 pm we will leave for Tawang War Memorial. The memorial is dedicated to the martyrs of the 1962 Sino-Indian war. The memorial is 40-foot-high and like a stupa in design. It is locally called ‘Namgyal Chortan’. The names of 2420 martyrs imprinted in gold on 32 black granite plagues.
Special attraction: At 4:30 pm we will have Light & Sound Show which will describe 1962 Sino-India war and the Hero’s of the war, about their struggle and martyrdom. Back to hotel. Overnight in Tawang.
DAY 09: TAWANG –DIRANG (138 kms / 5.15 hrs)
After Breakfast transfer from Tawang to Dirang. En-route visit Jung Falls. The Jung Falls is located about 35 kilometres from the centre of Tawang city and about 3 kilometres from the town of Jung. Jung is the valley that lies between Sella and Tawang. The Jung Falls, which is fed by alpine lakes and snow streams tumbles in multiple steep steps into the river below from an appreciable height. And everything around the waterfall is dense green adding to the beauty of the waterfall.
Dirang: Dirang 40 kms from Bomdila is situated at an altitude of 1497 meters. It is an ideal hill resort in West Kameng district with beautiful Apple Nursery, Kiwi Farm, Yak Research Centre, Buddhist Gompa, Hot Water Spring and ancient Dirang Jong (Fort). It is the base camp for trekking to Gorichen peak and other bird watching trails. Overnight at Dirang.
DAY 10: DIRANG – NAMERI NATIONAL PARK (178 kms / 5.5 hrs)
After Breakfast, transfer from Dirang to Nameri National Park.
Nameri National Park: The Nameri National Park of 200 sq kms area is located in the Sonitpur district, bordering Arunachal Pradesh and it is also the core area of Nameri Tiger Reserve (344sq kms). It is the home of Mammals like Elephant, Tiger, leopard, Sambar, Barking deer, Hog Deer, Wild Boar, Gaur, Slow Loris, Gaplangur, Burmese ferret badger, and over 350 species of birds including White-winged Wood Duck, Ibis bill (uncommon), Ruddy Kingfisher, Palla’s fishing eagle, Lesser Adjutant stork , Greater spotted eagle, Rufous necked hornbill, Great pied Indian hornbill, Wreathed hornbill, Long-billed Ringed Plover, Sultan Tit, and Yellow-bellied and White-throated Fantails. Another important wild life sanctuary of Arunachal Pradesh the Pakhui (Pakke) wild life Sanctuary adjoins the Park on its North-Eastern point. The river Jia- Bhoroli and its tributaries namely the Diji, Dinai, Doigurung, Nameri, Dikorai, and Kharietc crisscross the park. During rainy season A few Jheels (during the rainy seasons) also dot the area. Enjoy rafting in the Jia Bhoroli River in the south western boundary. Overnight at Nameri.
DAY 11: NAMERI– GUWAHATI (250km / 4h 30 min)
Before Breakfast in the morning you could go for hiking inside the park with a guard to see some beautiful bird and butterflies or after breakfast could have some fun with the white water rafting.
Later depart for Guwahati. After arriving sightseeing in Guwahati. Pay your obeisance at the numerous Temples – Maa Kamakhya Temple. Sukreshwar Temple. Umananda Temple. Navagraha Temple, Bashistha Ashram. Tirupathi Balaji Temple and many more. Visit the Second world war Cemetery, State Museum, State Zoo & Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra (A museum of Assam diverse culture) and Science Museum beside the temples. Overnight at Guwahati.
DAY 12: GUWAHATI – SUALKUCHI – GUWAHATI
After Breakfast, excursion to Sualkuchi (32kms). Later come back and sightseeing in Guwahati. Sualkuchi: Assam produces three unique varieties of silks, the Golden Muga, the White Pat and the warm Eri. Silks grown all over the state find their way to Sualkuchi, 32 kms from Guwahati.
Sualkuchi is one of the world’s largest weaving villages often called the Manchester of the East. The entire population here is engaged in weaving exquisite silk fabrics. A renowned centre of silk production, particularly known for Muga – the golden silk of Assam which is not produced anywhere else in the world. Overnight in Guwahati Hotel.
DAY 13: GUWAHATI DEPARTURE
After Breakfast, return back to Guwahati Airport / Railway station for your departure. Your tour ends here with pleasant memories.
